Cryptantha

Certain species of Cryptantha (commonly referred to as Forget-Me-Nots) are among the first flowers to bloom each year. Some begin blooming in February. The Jepson Desert Manual lists thirty-six species of Cryptantha which are found in the Desert Southwest. Likewise, Mary DeDecker lists thirty-one species of Cryptantha which grow in the Northern Mojave Desert. Many members of the genus Cryptantha are what are often called "belly flowers" due to their small size. Incidentally, certain species of Cryptantha produce flowers only one-sixteenth of an inch wide. Campfire Songs Cover Design

This is one of the few videos that I've made that do not feature a song. Instead I explain how I created the cover graphic for my latest book despite my lack of artistic skill. It was a tedious process, but with a lot of work I was more or less successful at rendering an acceptable cover graphic! The cover only shows seven people sitting around the campfire, however, there are actually a total of twelve characters who go on the campout chronicled in the book. New Year's Doves

Last year I created a video called "Whole Lotta Balls" to commemorate the new year. This year it was doves. Perhaps next year it will be babies. I'm not sure what other symbols there are for the New Year! At any rate, I actually made two versions of the "New Year's Dove" video, only one of which is displayed on this page!
