It sounds to me that the same people who did all the rioting and looting are saying that the police should be defunded. I'm sure all the criminals in prison think that prisons should be shut down and all the inmates set free. How can anyone take any of this seriously? Without the police criminal gangs would run things. Police corruption exists, but just barely. With criminal gangs all you'd have is corruption and although they might maintain order, it would be all about them making money and their brutality would be thousands of times worse than the brutality of any police department the USA has ever seen!

'Paw Patrol' facing heat over Chase the police dog
The looney left just keeps on getting loonier and loonier. Let's make a few things clear. George Floyd was a criminal thug. He didn't deserve to die, but he isn't worth any further discussion. The cop who killed him was an anomaly. The vast majority of cops do an admirable job keeping order in society. The worthless idiots in the streets protesting and rioting should be rounded up and sent to a detention facility somewhere outside of the USA so they can be dealt with in an appropriate manner. But what astounds me more than anything else are all these companies and large organizations just giving into the demands of a tiny, but vocal minority of people who lack any concept of social responsibility.

The leftest extremists are addicted to outrage and they cling to the victim card. The entire situation has gone from dysfunctional to pathological. They are incapable of seeing an isolated incident as an isolated incident. They want to turn it into something emblematic of a larger pattern. The problem is that the facts do not support the idea that there is a larger pattern of racism or discrimination. In fact, the facts support exactly the opposite contention. However, there's no reasoning with people addicted to outrage who have a vested interest in retaining the victim card as an excuse for anything and everything.

There's a rumor that the tape of the officer resting his knee on the criminal's neck was manipulated. According to the rumor the actual event lasted a little over one minute, but the video makes it appear to be something like eight minutes through a technique of looping, reversing, and slowing down the original video. When I first saw the video I thought it might be doctored, but I wasn't actually convinced. The other interesting rumor is that while in the cop vehicle before he was pulled back out, the criminal had shitted himself and had made comments about the officers being forced to smell his shit and clean up the mess later. There was also something said by the criminal in the form of a threat about raping a five-year-old girl. Again, according to the rumor, the other three officers were arrested to keep a lid on all of this, making it pretty obvious that this was a manufactured event to some degree.

pdm: I heard some of this. I heard that the tape was doctored and that whatever happened in the squad car before they pulled the piece of trash back out was pretty heinous. Also keep in mind that the original autopsy indicated that the officer's actions DID NOT cause the death of the piece of trash. That was revised a day later since someone in power decided that it was necessary to appease the morons out protesting in the streets and burning things down. Apparently the piece of trash, besides having a rather lengthy criminal history, also had quite a few medical issues. Obviously it's sad that the piece of trash died while being arrested, but trash of all races die all the time while in police custody. In a nation of over 300M people, death is something which happens quite frequently and sometimes people (of all races) die as a result of the stress of being arrested. It's unfortunate, but nothing we do will ever change that.

Atlanta residents outraged over police killing of black man :smack:
This is absolute insanity. Obviously the policeman was completely justified in shooting this guy. How could anyone object, let alone protest? People have gone off the deep end. A person would literally have to be RETARDED not to see that the officers had every right to shoot. Give both officers an award for exemplary service!

ergot: The mayor fired the officers? That's just plain dumb! Did she even look at the video of the event? How could you possibly blame the officers for shooting the guy? We have entered some kind of surreal twilight zone episode at this point. There is no way that anyone can blame the officers for shooting the guy. To think otherwise defies logic and reason and commonsense!

Atlanta police may be walking off the job en masse right now - Rayshard Brooks police shooting
It's gotten to the point where an officer can be charged with a crime for legitimately defending himself. When the DA's office doesn't give a rat's ass about the lives of cops, then it's time to get ride of the scumbags in the DA's office! Officers have a split second to make decisions while dealing with life and death situations. They deserve the benefit of the doubt. It's not like they have ten minutes to analyze the situation and consider all the possible responses they could potentially choose from.

Coleman Hughes: “Impossible to Reduce Rate of Police Killing Unarmed Civilians to 0”
Realistically it's impossible to completely eliminate any problem whether it's lightning strikes, murders, car accidents, house fires, etc. This world has never been perfect and although overall we might be in better shape than at any time in history, it's unrealistic to expect perfection. Things happen.
