Nice post pcslim! Interesting history of DVNP. That documentary film reminded me of the kind of thing they used to show at school. Kind of dry and unexciting, but full of information. Also the simple presentation style of the 1940s is something you don't see often anymore!

Ditto that! Great documentary find, pcslim! The old way of making videos was almost boring, but there's a certain nostalgia about the style. Times were simpler back then. Nowadays they'd probably include a cheesey rap or some other crappy gimmick in a misguided attempt to make it more interesting and relevant.

Death Valley Railroad Trestles
From the video description:
I hiked the Death Valley Railroad Bed from New Ryan to Death Valley Junction, and from Old Ryan at the Lila C. Mine to Horton Junction. Afterward I decided to do some research on the now missing Trestles.
