Some of these are fairly convincing which highlights the importance of having a good BS detector more than ever. Of course, BS detection is a mental skill lacking in many people.

Maybe this should be posted to the MORAL PANICS thread too. These people are making a big deal over absolutely nothing. What difference does it really make? People obsess over the most pathetically insignificant things sometimes!

Sounds like another cheap attempt to regulate free speech to me! Just like some people can't tell that The Onion makes parody news stories, some people are too braindead to realize that images can be doctored. I see a lot of comedy potential in deepfakes and very little possible harm.
