Thriving Longer: The Future of Aging | Dr. Mark Allen
GDF11 rejuvenates mice and also is found in humans. So is there a product that will eventually become available?
iDr. Allen is the Co-Founder and CEO of Elevian, a Harvard spinout developing medicines to cure aging. Elevian’s scientific founders, working at Harvard University, discovered natural proteins that regulate aging. One example, GDF11, a “young blood” factor, broadly stimulates repair of age-related damage. When provided to aging animals, GDF11 stimulates regeneration of heart, brain, muscle and other tissues, reversing age-related diseases

Can young blood reverse aging, CEO says yes
There must be certain substances in young blood which can be isolated and used as therapeutic agents. Apparently the identity of those substances has yet to be determined.

Elixir of Youth: blood protein extends longevity
It works in mice, but will it work in humans? The protein known as eNAMPT extended the lifespan of older mice by sixteen percent.

Reversing Age-Related Vision Loss Using Cellular Reprogramming
If aging is an accumulation of degradations, then it might be possible to reverse at least some of the effects of aging by repairing the degradations.
However, as we age, our cells are exposed to environmental factors and are subject to negative changes in their genomes through epigenetic mechanisms. These alterations accumulate over time and are strongly correlated with the decline observed in aging cells.

In this case repairs seemed to be possible.
In this study researchers used the technique of partial cellular reprogramming to reset epigenetic alterations that occur in cells during aging, thus restoring youthful function in mice.To achieve this, they used just three reprogramming factors, Oct4, Sox2, and Klf4, to reverse age-related epigenetic markers and rejuvenate the old cells in the eyes of mice. The approach was able to regenerate the eyes of mice suffering from age- or injury-induced blindness by encouraging the cells to revert to a more youthful level of function and thus regenerative capacity.

David Sinclair - Cracking & reversing the aging clock - Science Unlimited 2019
A couple interesting posts these last couple days on this general topic. I thought I'd add to the discussion. The part about epigenetic information was especially interesting. Undoing some of the methylation (if done in the right order) could reverse the aging clock. The delivery system is not completely clear. Would it be a pill or a shot? Would it be a simple chemical compound or some kind of viral vector? All of that is very unclear at this time, but the proof of concept is there.
